The building is currently occupied by Silgan Containers. The commercial real estate investor and developer cites the location in the competitive Shakopee submarket and the building’s value-add opportunities as the primary reason for acquiring the building. The closing occurred on Dec. 11.

Located at the southwest corner of Kenwood Avenue and Arrowhead Road, the site will include approximately 14,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 83 market-rate apartments ranging in size from studio to three-bedrooms. Construction is scheduled to be complete in fall 2016.
